Registration & Licensing

Organizations that collect, store, use, or otherwise process personal data in Somalia are required to register with the Somalia Data Protection Authority in accordance with Article 10 of the Data Protection Act No. 005 (2023).

Organizations engaged in sensitive, high-risk, or large-scale data processing must appoint and register a Data Protection Officer (DPO) as required under Article 14 of the Act.

Applications are reviewed and processed within timelines prescribed by law and regulatory guidance.
